Well, I've made a sequel to Hollow Point. It has changed so much that there is very little left of the first game, which has sort of morphed into a pseudo-RTS game for the arcade cabinet.
Let me try to outline some of the features:
- Very small sprites
- Four classes of units: Infantry
Sniper
Rocket soldier
Tank
- The game now has AI. Not very bright, but it's there!
- New control scheme; RTS style, no firebutton
- Infantry and rocket soldiers can take cover
- ....and throw grenades when under cover
- Waypoint system "go here THEN go here"
- Many different power-ups
- Setup system! you choose the controls at first run!
The game has very few maps, since they have to be simple to not complicate the gameplay too much.
Some of the keen-eyed players may recognize many of the sprites from other games. First one wins a no-prize:)
What early players has said:
"Fast and furious fun! I love the easy to use control system...you just throw forces around"
"The kind of game I would have loved to play on the NES or Amiga back in the day"
"Watching the bodies and blood on the screen rise as the battle goes on is awesome!! Reminds me of North & South, but more fierce and fast"
"I hate the game. It's no fun at all, that goes for all RTS games except TA" (This is the guy I made the game with)
If you run this on your arcade cab or something fancy, I would love to get a picture emailed
Thanks!
